"VE Day" Commemorative Net

N/A
Sat 9th May 2020

I am attempting to organise a net amongst members and any other amateurs that wish to join in.

This net is proposed for the frequency of 51.625MHz FM starting at 1400 local time. Please listen for G8DXU/P who will be self-isolating at BHRS.

After initial contact and a few rounds perhaps we can then QSY to 70.375MHz, 28.320MHz USB and later 1976kHz USB (For Clansman Users) or 1905 kHz for others are also possibilities.

To assist local coverage, Vertically Polarised aerials will be preferred on all of the above frequencies/channels. Hopefully there will some members using ex military Clansman equipment although all are welcome to use any amateur rigs.  We also hope to welcome Matthew M7MRJ who has only recently received his callsign and will be using his RT353 from a Ferret Armoured Vehicle in Hailsham.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN IN, WHETHER SARS MEMBERS OR NOT.  IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME PLEASE JUST CALL IN AND GIVE AND RECEIVE A SIGNAL REPORTS.

Barry G8DXU

ps

I believe that it can be said that the above was a great success, particularly the Net on Top Band where all stations could give each other typically 59 reports.  MANY THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE STATIONS WHO TOOK TIME OUT TO PARTICIPATE.
