144MHz Low Power Contest,144MHz Low Power Contest, – 1400-2000 UTC Low Power contest max 25W SARS will be fielding a team in this event at our Beachy Head Site. Members often camp overnight Saturday in readiness for the 70cm event Sunday. We will hold a Barbeque early Saturday evening, open to all contest participants and invited guests. 50MHz UK Activity Contest 2000-2230 Local,50MHz UK Activity Contest 2000-2230 Local, N/A These contests run on the second Thursday of each month between 2000-2300 local time. There is normally a good amount of activity and we intend to operate G1KAR/P in the open section from BHRS. Members interested in operating or logging are invited to contact Barry G8DXU who will be organising the societies participation. |

Rural Past Times at Pestalozzi,Rural Past Times at Pestalozzi, N/A Held each year on the second weekend in August at the Pestalozzi village near Sedlescombe, TN33 0UF. This show has a mainly agricultural theme, including static displays of vehicles and machinery. There are sales exhibits from many different trades, food stalls and a bar selling real ales etc. Over the last few years there has been a good collection of military vehicles including the FV432 owned by SARS member Richard 2E0EOX. G8DXU will be joining the display with his Land Rover Defender FFR and Clansman equipment, subject to sufficient interest from other members. We have secured special event call GB2RP for the duration of the show. Also listen out for G1KAR/P during our entry to the 70MHz contest on Sunday 11th between 1500-1700 local time in the SSB section of the band. Beachy Head Meeting?,Beachy Head Meeting?, – Possible meeting at BHRS. Please note that start times may differ. It would be good if members could arrange to communicate from BHRS to Pestalozzi where G8DXU and 2E0EOX will be exhibiting.

Our Beachy Head site offers a good viewing platform for some of the displays. There is limited parking for members only. BHRS may be in use at the weekend for regular radio operations. Vehicular access is sometimes restricted at peak times and often due to helicopter flights or parking schemes operated by the council.
