Foundation Licence Practical at BHRS,

Our next scheduled date for running the practical element of the Foundation licence.

This will take place at the Societies Beachy Head Radio site from 1300 and normally takes about four hours.

SARS Registered assessor Bob Fox G0UOI and Exam Secretary Barry Pollard-Wilkins G8DXU will be present.

144/432MHz March Contest,

The first big VHF/UHF contest of the year running from 1400-1400 over the weekend.

 SARS will be fielding a team in the full 24 hour Open event. Some members will be establishing a camp at BHRS in order to make full use of the time and operate over the full contest period.

Exercise Blue Ham also runs over this weekend and should keep us busy during any period of inactivity on 2m or 70cm. We will be deploying a dedicated aerial to operate on 60m. New and recent licencees are encouraged to visit BHRS and have a go operating on 60m under supervision.  The societies ICOM IC-7300 will be available for members to use on the 5MHz (60m) band.  see www.alphacharlie.org for more information on Blue Ham which is organised by the Air Cadet Organisation.

First in this years series of Blue Ham events where amateurs with a FULL licence exchange details with Air and perhaps military Cadet stations all over the UK.

Operations are on the 60m (5MHz( Band Phone in using USB or data.

We can operate on this band whilst taking part in the 144MHz event. Members without a full licence can also participate from BHRS under supervision. This is normally a very enjoyable event and we only need 10 different contacts to gain a certificate.

Meeting time will be from 1100 until around 1600

Planned frequencies 1976kHz  AM at 1400 

After establishing contact we may change to 1990kHz USB  and possibly 28.308MHz USB

Due to the current situation the RSGB have announced that Single entries are the only category now accepted. 

This means that all entries from  G1KAR/P (BHRS) are no longer permitted.
