Exercise Blue Ham

Exercise Blue Ham

Sat 13th Oct 2018 Sun 14th Oct 2018

Exercise Blue Ham is run on the 60m band to which military cadets and Radio Amateurs with a FULL Licence have access. It runs today and Sunday from 0800-2000.

The exercise gives Radio Amateurs an opportunity to call Cadet Stations on various spot frequencies to exchange signal reports and locations. This gives the cadet stations valuable practice at radio operating and amateurs a chance to use their military or suitably enables radios. Brief Military style operating is encouraged as this will be used by all cadet stations.

Cadet stations will call "Alfa Charlie" which is equivalent to "CQ" and will use call signs such as MRL20, MRC12 etc.  Operating frequencies will be published live on the Alfa Charlie website.  https//alphacharlie.org.uk

It is hoped that some SARS members with a full licence will operate from BHRS and supervise the operation of other licence classes as appropriate. Stations contacting 10 cadet stations can claim a certificate for the event.

Members with a full licence can join in the exercise and operate independently if they so wish. This being a great opportunity to brush the dust off of your Clansman PRC320 and see if it still works!

Several SARS team members and colleagues will be operating G8DXU/P or perhaps G1KAR/P from a location on Dartmoor.

Members with a Full Licence are encouraged to participate in exercise Blue Ham and perhaps contact our portable station.
