Club meeting on the 4th of February

Our guest speaker at the next club meeting on the 4th February, will be Dick Jeffries G4KAR speaking about the Eastbourne & Wealden RAYNET Group, that was formed back in 1976 with the objective of supporting the blue light emergency services, the Emergency Planning Officer and the voluntary emergency services such as the British Red Cross and the St John Ambulance.

The Eastbourne & Wealden RAYNET Group is very active today and yearly membership of RAYNET is open to anyone over the age of 14 with an interest in emergency and community communications for the most reasonable sum of £12.00

It does not matter if you hold an Amateur Radio licence or not as there are many disciplines involved in RAYNET work. All classes of Amateur licence are welcome and a foundation licence (M3 callsign) is not a bar to operating in a RAYNET environment.

Membership of the group is open to anyone with an interest in emergency and community communications whether a licensed Radio Amateur or a radio listener. The Eastbourne & Wealden RAYNET Group in conjunction with the Southdown Amateur Radio Society can provide instruction and assistance with the Foundation and Intermediate Licence.
