Beachy Head / National Park Land for Sale?

It would appear that Eastbourne Council are considering selling much of the land that currently forms part of the New National Park.

This land was purchased in 1929 and by an act or Parliament was secured for the people of Eastbourne. Covering some 4000 acres the land was purchased for £100,000 to save it from development. There appears to be very little publicity regarding this potential sale, which will probably be administered by Estate Agents Strutt and Parker. Currently there does not appear to be any information regarding sale on the Eastbourne Council website www.eastbourne.gov.uk .

The sale could have implications regarding future access and use by Eastbourne residents and visitors alike. SARS is not currently expressing any opinion or objection as to whether or not any such sale should proceed.

Eastbourne residents and interested parties are encouraged to monitor this situation. Any representations should be made to Eastbourne Borough Council.
