Net / Contest on 1976kHz AM, 28.320MHz SSB and 51.625MHz FM,

N/A
Sat 20th Jun 2020

Members may wish to take part in a net on 1976 kHz AM then 28.320MHz USB and 51.625MHz FM

The net will start on 1976kHz AM at 1400 and change to 28.320 MHz USB at around 1500

At 1530 or earlier, depending upon the numbers of stations on the channel it is proposed to change to 51.625MHz FM.

This event is the first part of the SARS members competition.

The reason for using AM on 1976 kHz is to give stations the opportunity to obtain bonus points during the members competition. Stations can change to USB if they wish after making contest exchanges. Contacts can be made using USB but will not gain the  3 times points multiplier applicable to AM usage.

Members CONTEST on 2m FM,

Mon 29th Jun 2020

Continuation of our members contest on 2m FM which hopefully will encourage those with either simple Handheld radios, Fixed, mobile or Portable stations to try contacting other members.

This event will start at 1800 and end at 2000 local time.

Contacts and exchanges should be made on the following channels only:-

 145.375MHz (S15),   145.400 (S16),  145.425 (S17)

Short calls may be made on 145.500 (S20) to inform other stations that you are listening on one of the above channels.  It is recommended that vertical aerials are used.

Hopefully some members may go to elevated sights to improve the distance worked and increase the chance of working members who are distributed around the local area.
